Our Story
A last-minute boat swap, an unclear invoice, and a broker who stopped answering. That experience became the reason Adfoz exists.
In 2019, a private group of friends booked what they believed was a 60-foot yacht for a milestone birthday on the Great Lakes. The photos were beautiful. The quote was verbal. On the morning of the event, a different — smaller — vessel arrived. The broker cited “operational changes.” The extra charges appeared only after the deposit was non-refundable.
That group included the founders of Adfoz. They decided the industry’s tolerance for opacity was no longer acceptable. Guests who pay premium rates deserve verified vessels, written inclusions, and a human who stays with them until the last line is secured.
Adfoz launched with a simple operating principle: every charter is treated as a private relationship, not a transaction. We built a network of inspected, insured, and captain-certified vessels. We published realistic rate ranges. We created the Planner Calculator so guests can explore costs before speaking to anyone. And we made refund and weather policies readable in under two minutes.
Today Adfoz operates from Elmhurst, Illinois, and serves private parties across coastal and inland waters. The mission has not changed: put the guest back at the center of the private charter experience.
